As I’ve mentioned before now reports are saying that the recession is going to make us fat. Now, after seeing what is  being called by iReport for CNN a “Gastronomic Stimulus Package” my fears have doubled.

Try having soup instead. Is great for the cold weather, cheap, healthy and there will be enough leftovers for days to come

Large food chains such as IHOP and Quiznos are giving away free food, yes it does sound like a good idea – I get it, but their food is not the healthiest food ever. Just imagine what this can do to a person, or to a child who wakes up in the morning and eats 957 calories* (the IHOP Pancake Syrup alone has 230 calories in 2oz of serving) is worth of pancakes, 1010 calories** on a Quiznos sandwich for lunch and ends it all up with 690 calories*** burger at Jack in the Box for diner?  This comes down to a total of: 2,657 calories+, that’s without even counting drinks such as sodas, coffee or juice! What if you had dessert? This is all just 2,657 worth of fat (not the good fat!).

I understand there’s a need to tighten our belts – trust me I’m there!  But if we keep taking reckless advantage of these offers there’s going to come to a point where we will need a new belt! I’ll beg everyone to please read my post: 10 Tips to Recession Dieting it will help anyone to save money and eat healthy.
