Europe is Hell and Denmark is the Devil

When it comes to social issues Europe seems like it wants to set us backwards and doom us for destruction and gives us a ticket straight to hell. How else can you explain the fact that the legal drinking age in European countries is 16, and you can even drink at home with your parents, [...]

A case against racial terms like: “African American” and “Asian American.”

Many Americans hesitate to engage in some of the most important social debates such as drugs and crime because almost everything you say can be labeled as racist. Americans have created a self-censorship habit that has become so automatic that we are not aware of the amount of effort put into not saying the “wrong thing”. This is all thanks in good part to Political Correctness (PC). See, Political Correctness introduced the idea that only certain things can be said, or considered, or thought (being the precursor of speech), and that some group out there has the authority to decide, for everyone, what’s appropriate. All this is just as a form of introduction to my point, why are we so afraid to say the wrong thing that by saying the Political Correct term or in most cases labels, we end up actually discriminating even more? Take for example Barack Obama or Beyoncé, please everyone in your heads right now describe their physical appearance as if you were describing it to someone else. Did anyone think of her as an Asian-American? I bet most of you did, and those who didn’t and refer to Barack Obama and Beyoncé as black felt as if they’ve done something wrong, something RACIST!

But don’t you think that is more racist to actually refer to them as “insert region here – American” as opposed to just, I don’t know – Americans? No one would describe Britney Spears as “caucasian-american” or “european-american.” Then don’t you think is discriminatory to actually label someone as someone less worthy of being an American? Do you think if Beyoncé was born, raised and lived in Mexico they would call her: “african-mexican?” Would Barack Obama’s father, who was born in Africa, be called “African-African” in Africa?

We are all American’s no matter what either because we were born here or because we obtained or citizenship through other means. Saying that normal, regular, every day Americans are white, then that’s discrimination.
