Don Imus has Prostate Cancer

Today on his morning radio show, Imus in the Morning, Don Imus announced he had stage II prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of men’s deaths in the United States. In 2008, there were 28,000 deaths last year and the American Cancer Society estimates that in 2008 there were about 186,320 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the US. Recent studies links heavy drinking to prostate cancer. Imus has been sober for two decades now, but before he did some heavy drinking and drug abuse. There’s not an exact answer on what causes prostate cancer, but experts seem to believe that a combination of factors may play a role, including heredity, ethnicity, hormones, diet and the environment. The treatments for Prostate cancer are: External beam radiation therapy (EBRT), Radioactive seed implants, hormoney therapy, radical prostatectomy, Robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostactectomy (RALRP), watchful waiting, Chemotherapy, Cyrotherapy, genere therapy and immune therapy.Key factors for prevention, as with everything else, are healthy eating habits and excersice.

Rihanna and Chris Brown’s new song: Syndrome

Okay, well . . . there’s really no new song, but if there were it’s name would either be Syndrome – you know short for Stockholm Syndrome and it would be the smash hit “sequel” to last year’s Disturbia. There’s really no other way to explain how Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together after he beat her up. I do have some theories though. “Sometimes in long term relationships, the abusers have had plenty of time to “work” on their victims and the victims come to believe that they “need” their abusers for many of life’s daily necessities. Over the long term, the abusers have conditioned the victims to stay with him or her. However, many victims mistake this “need” for the belief that they ‘love’ the abuse.” Why Do Abuse Victims Stay? by Peter Moser Suite 101. Not only that, said Daniel Kreps in Rolling Stone, but Brown may have ulterior motives here. “A reconciliation with Rihanna is perhaps the only way the 19-year-old R&B star can save his career.” Still, Brown isn’t legally “out of the woods yet,” although “it would be difficult for prosecutors to secure a conviction without Rihanna’s testimony.” Are Chris Brown and Rihanna back together? The Week. “No man should ever put his hands on you. No man should ever touch you . . . I don’t care if he’s 8-years-old on the preschool/play school ground…100-years-old, it doesn’t matter.” Jamie Foxx on Rihanna/Chris Brown. Chris Brown’s violence is not one single isolated incident, after all he beat up an unnamed woman the night before the Grammy’s (and Rihanna’s battering). This is a guy with violent tendencies that needs psychiatric help (not rehab!).

I’m officially done with Chris Brown, if Rihanna goes back with him then I’ll be done with her too. What saddens me the most is how her dad supports her decision of reconciling!
